Project 013 Super Clod Buster PART 02: Gearbox Upgrade

For part 2 of our Project 013 Super Clod Buster, we turn to the next area of this build to address – the gearbox housings. First item is our Alloy Machined Gearbox Housing Set (#C34231). These housings upgrade the front and rear end to stronger and more durable aluminum alloy; the small increase in weight not only helps get more traction, but also gives the Clod a more stability during more spirited maneuvers. 

Next, we added in our Aluminum Drive Shaft Tubes (#C34224). The stock plastic tubes are prone to cracking under excessive jump landings and continuous off-road rough terrain driving, but our alloy parts will easily handle more spirited driving. Not stopping there, we also installed our Aluminum C-Hubs (#C34220). When combined with the Aluminum Drive Shaft Tubes, the entire assembly replaces the OEM plastic for strong but lightweight aluminum alloy to increase durability and add style points, too! 

Since we don’t have internals for a third axle housing, our solution was to use our Complete Alloy Axle Tube Assembly (#C34275). This assembly combines #C34220 and #C34224, and also includes the third set of internals (HD steel driveshafts and captured ball bearings) that we didn’t get with the OEM Super Clod Buster kit.
