Integy Project 013: Tamiya Super Clod Buster “Black Edition” Ltd.

A new Project Build is upon us! We’re going with a classic – a vehicle that has withstood the test of time to become one of the most popular platforms for RC fans. Though its initial release was almost 40-years ago (1987 to be exact) it is still being built, modified, and driven by RC enthusiasts today: we’re talking about the legendary Tamiya Clod Buster!

The original Tamiya monster truck has had many iterations over the years, and for our latest project build we’re starting with Tamiya part #47432 – the Super Clod Buster “Black Edition.” This limited-edition release features a hard plastic body molded in black, with a black and red color scheme.

This build was supposed to happen sooner, but we were debating on how far to go with this in terms of the upgrade list. Well, we decided to try something different with this project – our plan will convrt the standard Clod Buster’s 4x4x4 configuration to a (spoiler alert) 6x Quad-RWD layout!

As we do with all of our project vehicles, we’ll install a host of curated Integy hop-up parts to improve the performance, durability, and appearance of the stock Super Clod chassis.
